We are here to be your child's friendly tour guides on an amazing educational journey. Our goal is to make sure they have an unforgettable experience. It is like an exciting adventure where they can explore their interests and talents. We will support them every step of the way, helping them excel in what they love and giving them extra time and attention when needed to succeed in areas they find challenging.

Teachers

At Evolve Online School, our Teachers are seasoned educators who take special care to help your child succeed.

Our Teachers are qualified educators who take special care to make sure that your child progresses through their education journey. During the Foundation Phase we practice ‘looping’. This means that the same activators will stay with your child for more than one year to facilitate a deeper relationship and understanding of their unique needs.

We use a tailored approach to make sure that your child develops mastery at their own pace. By not feeling rushed to keep up with the rest of the class, and not feeling bored or held back when they are keen to move faster, we give your child the chance to claim their ground through their own achievements and reduce the anxiety associated with the usual one-size-fits-all model of schooling.

Synchronous & Asynchronous Approach

Evolve Online School uses a balance of Synchronous and Asynchronous learning to give your child a unique learning experience.

Synchronous learning consists of scheduled live online classes that your child will need to attend. While Asynchronous learning allows the child to develop mastery over topics at their own pace.

Foundation Phase (Grade R-3)

Empowering students through Digital Mastery

Our foundation phase is for students from Grade R to 3. We understand how important this phase is in laying the basics for all future learning. Our phased approach allows for time to be spent on any topics or subjects your child might be struggling with and also lets them explore and quickly progress in areas of interest and natural ability.

Intermediate Phase (Grade 4-6)

Students in the Intermediate Phase of primary school continue to develop their Literacy, Digital and Mathematical mastery. They also start a new subject called IDEAS.

Students from Grades 4 to 6 fall within the Intermediate phase of primary school. Our tailored approach to online primary schooling allows students to spend time on subjects they struggle with, and master topics faster in areas of interest and natural ability.

Students from Grades 7 to 9 fall within the senior phase. Our tailored approach allows students to spend time on subjects they struggle, and progress faster in areas of interest and natural ability.

(Grade 10-12)

We don't believe that a child should measure their self-worth and accomplishments against artificial conventions.

Therefore we allow our Evolvees to work at their own pace at a level they are comfortable with to give your child the opportunity to claim their ground through their own achievements.

Upper Primary

Ages 8 to 11 (Grades/Stage 4 to 6)

Cambridge Primary starts learners on an exciting educational journey. Typically for 5 to 11 year olds, it provides a strong foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling before progressing through the Cambridge Pathway in an age-appropriate way.

Adventure starts at home

The Senior Phase students continue with the same subjects as the Intermediate Phase, but with a greater

emphasis on creating their own content and using what they absorbed in Primary school to become

at in their senior high school years. They specialise in one of their additional languages

but continue to learn the second one at a conversational level. Digital mastery stresses

creating a positive online schooling presence and using technology to voice their opinions

in a respectful way. We also encourage them to be critical of the information they find

online and learn to acknowledge their sources. There is a strong emphasis on coding

and critical thinking. Our Life Coaches concentrate on

The same child can also move forward in another subject to work that is typically only accessible in Grade 9 if they show the aptitude for it.

Students follow their learning activator’s instructions to complete the tasks required.

Joins scheduled group classes. Attends catch-up sessions with their learning activator, if required. Takes part in group discussions and assignments. Logs in to the Learning Management System and systematically work through the content. When mastery is achieved, they can move straight onto the next section. Submits assessments and assignments as indicated on the Learning Management Sy
The foundation phase is one in which you as a parent have a crucial role to play.

Your child’s learning activator is a knowledgeable foundation phase teacher who will assist and advise you at every step in the educational journey of your child. They will check in with you personally every week to discuss requirements and progress, and will help you assess your child’s mastery of concepts and activities. They also facilitate the live group classes that your child attends.
Our learning architects and activators have developed a solid structure to guide your choices for your child

Your child's learning activator is a knowledgeable and passionate senior phase teacher who will assist and advise you at every step in the educational journey of your child. They will provide a framework of what exactly what needs to be done and will mainly be responsible for assessing your child’s mastery of concepts and activities. If your child has trouble with a certain concept, they will schedule activation sessions to assist in mastering that particular hurdle.

While you are the most important coach in the life of your foundation phase child, we also have a qualified life coach who is equipped to engagingly interact with your child and help them grasp basic skills, navigate life, and verbalise their emotions. Our life coaches play a key role at our day camps where they interact with each child.

All subjects are integrated and are taught in themes.

This helps to merge similar skills and find the links between the different subjects.

Books & Apps

Through our strategic partnership with iStore Education, the distributors of Apple in South Africa, we will supply your child’s device with all the required books and apps they will need. All e-books and apps are included in the annual tuition fee. *Please note this excludes the device.

iPad discount for our students

With digital mastery being a key component of our offering, we have chosen to partner with Think Ahead and Apple in our educational journey. This will allow us to curate and push specific apps to our students to use at age-appropriate times. We will also be able to monitor activity on the apps and iPads to ensure that the set outcomes are achieved.

In addition, all older siblings at Evolve Online School qualify for a sibling discount off of the cost of an iPad.

All students enrolled enrolled in the Senior or FET Phase will need a laptop/desktop for learning.

Assessments in the foundation phase happen regularly and in various ways.

Your learning teacher will be in contact with you throughout to discuss requirements and help you determine the proficiency level of your child. They will monitor progress made on the apps we provide as part of the learning programme. You will also be alerted to requirements as you work through the learning adventure box with your child where they will be required to submit, and upload tasks given to them.

You will receive ongoing live progress reports and formal reports twice a year.

In the FET Phase (Grade 10-11), students are preparing for the possible leap into post-matric with the prospect to delve directly into the job market or start their own venture also being part of the consideration mix.

During their years in the FET, high school students can align their subject choices as the core foundations of what will determine their choice of

Tertiary studies or occupation.
